What's growing on?

First, we’d just like to thank you for visiting our new site and for taking the time to explore our stories! Your interest in what’s happening here at Jordan’s Farm is exactly what makes our customers the best – you’re invested in where the food you nourish yourself and your loved ones comes from.

Back in September of 2023, Jordan’s Farm was awarded a USDA Value Added Producer Grant. These funds are being used to expand our marketing, retail activities, and value-added product offerings. All of these things are intended to create a more sustainable retail model that allows Jordan’s to offer more Maine-grown products to our community.

We began by working with Carla Bryant of Bryght Creatives on a new look for our logo and labeling, and we think she knocked it out of the park! It was important to us that we represent the history of Jordan’s (five generations and counting) with a vintage, trustworthy, and practical feel. The barn at the top of our logo is a drawing done by our Operations Manager, Jess Newton. The barn plays an extremely important role at the farm and has been the face of the farm for over 120 years. You’ll also notice the moto “Growing Maine Agriculture” in the logo. For many years, Jordan’s has not only offered our own farm-grown but we’ve sold the produce and goods of many other Maine farmers and makers, creating an additional outlet for them to gain revenue. The Maine farming community is extremely important to the Jordan family and they work each day to raise awareness of the bounty Maine farms have to offer.

Once we had a refreshed look, we began our journey with side • sea, a design firm that has elevated our website to match the dynamic, engaging, and beautiful nature of Jordan’s Farm. They took the time to visit our farm and learn the feel of it, in pouring rain and blazing sun, and it really shows. We hope you love not just the look, but new additions like What’s in Season, and this News and Stories page. We’ll keep cultivating this website with even more information about the things we grow and offer but for now, please take our survey and let us know what you think of it and the improvements  we’ve made to the stand!

What improvements to the stand, you might ask? Well, our intrepid carpenter (and lead farmer and general fix-it extraordinaire) Phil Jordan, along with his team of Max and Tim, expanded the checkout area of the stand, took down a wall (creating much better customer flow and shopping experience), and added lighting…all in the span of about 2 weeks, during days we weren’t open this winter. We’ve been getting such positive feedback from the community and we couldn’t be more proud. There’s more to come, but it’s summer and the fields demand their time!

So, what’s next? Very exciting and delicious things. Our beloved salad dressing line is being expanded, we’re playing with pickled things and sauces, and working on freezing produce so that local veggies can be enjoyed outside of their season. You may recall some surveys about possible future products that we did this winter, both in the stand and on our Instagram. We were listening and are cooking some things up, literally! Stay tuned for some new things making an appearance in the stand, and look for our new logo and labeling popping up around the stand this summer!
